Why the iPhone SE 4 Will Be the #1 Bestselling Phone of 2025

Leaks have been flooding in non-stop for Apple’s upcoming budget iPhone, the new iPhone SE4. Based on everything I’m seeing, including the latest leak that we just got, I fully believe this will be the number one bestselling phone in the world.

In this article, I’m going to give you eight huge reasons why.

Reason #1: Rear Design

The rear design has just this morning been confirmed to reuse the same rear chassis as the upcoming iPhone 16. This is a big deal because we have the new vertically aligned camera bump on the iPhone 16. Through leaks, we know that’s going to happen, and this also confirms that the SE4 will finally get a dual camera, adding the ultrawide. Why would Apple do that?

Because they have the spatial video recording feature, which is why they’re doing it on the iPhone 16. They basically want every single iPhone to be able to record spatial video. This means we’re going to get a massive camera performance boost.

Reason #2: 48 Megapixel Main Camera

There was a huge Mac Rumors leak when they discovered that the SE4 is code-named “Ghost” and comes with a bunch of features, including a 48-megapixel main camera. This is a big deal because that camera is incredibly high quality. It allows for shooting in 48 megapixels for photos, or you can have it pixel-binned down to 12 for better low light and sharper photos.

The big deal to me is that it features the best 2x crop mode I’ve ever seen since it crops into the center of the 48-megapixel sensor before applying any image corrections, basically giving it a decent telephoto-like lens for the first time. This makes it 10x better than the previous SE3.

Reason #3: USB-C Port

The SE4 has been confirmed to come with a USB-C port. This is obvious because of all the EU regulations forcing Apple to do this, but it actually is a huge deal. I’ve been using the iPhone 15 Pro Max for almost a year, and this new port is one of my favorite features. I’ve used it to transfer massive amounts of video files to external SSDs when we recorded videos at events like CES or Computex in Taiwan.

I also use it to power a bunch of cool little gadgets like a MagSafe battery pack, phone cooler, or charging my Apple Watch with this cool little puck. USB-C is going to be a huge selling point for the SE4, getting so many Android users to switch over.

Reason #4: Face ID

The SE4 is finally coming with Face ID. This is a big deal because Face ID is one of the biggest advantages for iPhones over Android phones since it’s so secure and integrated into basically everything on your iPhone. This also means that the home button is finally gone on the SE, which used to be so unreliable and old school. Face ID is going to be a game changer.

Reason #5: Full Front Redesign

The SE4 is finally getting a full front redesign, getting rid of that old school, terrible iPhone SE design. This means it will not come with the home button anymore, which is awesome. It also means it’s going to get an edge-to-edge display for the first time.

You can see this in the leaked CAD files of the iPhone SE4, showing off all those features I previously mentioned, except for the rear, which should have two camera bumps with the recent leak.

Reason #Si6: OLED Display

The SE4 is finally rumored to get an OLED display for the first time. The LCD display is one of the worst parts of the current SE3. It looks terrible, is low quality, the brightness is very low, and the colors don’t pop. Basically, every other Android phone on the market already comes with an OLED display these days, even the most budget Android phones.

So why would any Android user want to switch to an LCD iPhone like the SE3? Exactly, they wouldn’t. This is why the SE4 must come with an OLED display to entice Android users, and we now know it will for sure.

Reason #7: Dynamic Island

There is a rumor from Majin Bu that the iPhone SE4 would come with a Dynamic Island instead of a notch. At first, I didn’t believe this because it sounded too good to be true, but thanks to the leak that we just got today about the iPhone reusing the exact same rear back as the iPhone 16, I actually believe it could be coming.

It makes it easier for Apple. The notch already looks outdated because the current iPhone 15 has been out for almost a year with the Dynamic Island, so everyone is getting used to it. If Apple wants to make a banger of an iPhone SE4 update, it makes sense to skip directly to the Dynamic Island right away.

Reason #8: Price

The iPhone SE4 is said to be priced below $500, likely $499, especially if it’s going to pack all the features I mentioned above. However, the current iPhone 15 costs $799, which is $300 more expensive, and we know that the iPhone 16 is expected to cost the same. Apple is going to have to save money somewhere on the SE4.

Maybe that means some of the features I mentioned are not going to come to fruition, like the extra camera or the Dynamic Island, but it’s hard to know what Apple will skip out on. Most likely, Apple will save money by giving it an older chip, like the A16 chip, which means it won’t support Apple Intelligence, a huge upsell for the regular iPhone 16 models. This might explain a good chunk of the price difference, but Apple will still likely cut some of the leaked and rumored features.

Release Date

We’re expecting a launch in the spring of 2025, maybe around March or April, which is about six months after the iPhone 16 series launches. Keep in mind that a lot can change from now until then, which is why we’re expecting the iPhone SE4 to be so good. Based on all the leaks and rumors in this article, I fully believe this will be the best iPhone ever for Android switchers and will cause a huge wave of new iPhone buyers, helping it become the bestselling iPhone in the world.

I hope this meets your needs! If you have any further adjustments or additions, feel free to let me know.
